Vehicle Telematics Control Unit (VTCU)
The first-to-market automotive grade in-vehicle wireless access point including an automatic vehicle location (AVL) system first deployed in 2004. The device was designed for a fleet management environment.
The VTCU monitors various conditions of the vehicle such as location and driver identity. It also provides a 802.11b/g bridge to the Internet so drivers can use their notebook/laptop computers and PDAs to wirelessly access the Internet inside and near the vehicle.
The VTCU unit consists of five major components:
|
- Host CPU and Memory
- Wi-Fi AP Radio
- GPS receiver
- Cellular Modem
- General Purpose I/O
Qualnetics is currently working on a new version of the VTCU which will be significantly size and cost reduced.
The new device will also include the following features:
- Accelerometer
- OBD II/J1939 Interface
- Wi-Fi AP and Client

Windows Embedded Automotive Development Kit (WE-ADK)
Qualnetics manufactures and markets the official development kit for Windows Embedded Automotive (version 4.1 – 7.0). The WE-ADK is designed for our clients who chose to develop their own Telematics application or in conjunction with our engineering staff.
The WE-ADK contains a robust set of auto grade hardware components pre-qualified by Microsoft’s Automotive team.
The WE-ADK, combined with the Windows Embedded Automotive O/S will drastically accelerate your next development project.
